Saudi Aramco awards SGS for its quality assurance and training services

Press Release Summary: As a result of the successful cooperation between Saudi Aramco, the most important oil and gas supplier in the world, and SGS, Aramico awards SGS at the Annual Inspection Agency Meeting in Italy
Press Release Body: ARAMCO Overseas Company B.V. awarded SGS United Kingdom a ”Certificate of Appreciation for qualifiing the highest number of inspectors among other inspection agencies in 2007” at the Annual Inspection Agency meeting in Italy.
After awarding Prakash Mane (SGS Industrial Services India) as ”Best Inspector of the year 2007” at the Asia Pacific Annual Inspection Agencies meeting in March this year, further awards have been granted to SGS inspectors at the European meeting in Italy.
SGS inspector, Mauro Nogarin, and the English SGS coordinator, Mark Tandy, received ”Certificate of Appreciation” for the ”Outstanding contribution to the quality of the company supplied materials in 2007”.
Established in 1948, AOC is a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco the national oil company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Aramco supplies almost a quarter of the world’s proven oil reserves and ranked fourth in the world in natural gas reserves. The company also has a substantial international refining and marketing presence, with joint ventures in the Unites States, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Japan and China.

SGS not only provides diverse inspection, testing and auditing services for Saudi Aramco but also trains and qualifies personnel in the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines for the company.
As part of the cooperation between the largest producer of crude oil in the world and the the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company a ”Twin Program” has been established for training purposes.
Saudi Aramco trainees receive full ”On the Job Training” in SGS’s laboratories and offices around the globe for a period of between 12 and 24 months. They are qualified as ”Aramco Authorised Inspectors” at the end of the training and can also obtain other certifications for welding inspection or Non-Destructive Testing.
The global demand for SGS Industrial Services’ training and Asset Integrity Management services remains strong in the Oil and Gas sector, reflecting continued emphasis in the industry on ensuring assets are of the highest standards.
